I Care Tree - Preschool

The "I Care Tree" in the Weka Room (Preschool), promotes thoughtful, positive behaviours from the children.
Each fruit recognises a specific action and virtue the children display over the course of their day.
Gaining a fruit to place on the tree motivates the children to be kind and caring to others, to demonstrate great listening skills, to be a great helper to both friends and teachers and to also practice problem solving for themselves in different contexts. Take a look at the 'I Care Tree" below.

  1. This is great except for the children who are not recognised and are left feeling "sad" because they are not able to get a fruit on the tree despite trying. We as parents are left supporting those feelings and encouraging them to try harder but them still not getting any recognition for their efforts. The flip side to the positive recognition is obviously what we are facing.

  2. It is such a shame that, for all the hard work the preschool teachers do the only comment forthcoming is an anonomous negative one from a parent who is disappointed that their child's name has not been included.

  3. It is only anonymous because I don't have passwords or registration with blog to be able to leave details. I have spoken to staff about this so I figured that you would know who it came from and am more than happy to advise you that it is Monica and Rex Pearce - Olivia's mother. It is negative because it is us that is dealing with this problem.
