Information For New Parents

If your child is going to be on holiday and absent from the centre, could you please make sure that you fill in an absent form the week prior to the holiday. These forms are available from reception.

A Query To All Bayfield Chefs

As most of you know, each week we do some cooking with the children in Preschool, incorporating the letter of the week.
Last week was a little tricky - Q for Quiche. This got us thinking about some of the letters coming up - U, V, W, X,Y and Z!
If anyone has any ideas for these letters we would love to hear them.

Wacky Wednesday - Toddlers

On Wednesday, the 14th May, the Toddler Room had a Wacky Wednesday. The children came to Bayfield in their wackiest clothes: some in pyjamas, some had inside out clothes, funny hats and even undies over their pants!
For afternoon tea the children made wacky biscuits with green, red, orange and yellow icing and then they decorated the biscuits with sprinkles and marshmallows.

Mother's Day - Toddlers

Here are some of the photos of our children's mothers that came in for the morning.
The children really enjoyed their mothers participating in their daily centre activities, like music and movement, reading them stories and playing with them in the playground.
It was a very enjoyable morning and after the mothers had finished visiting their children they were able to enjoy a hot drink, scones and yummy cake in the staffroom.

Lifecycle of a Butterfly - Weka Room

The Weka children were very interested in the life cycle of a butterfly. To encourage their interest the teachers got a swann plant. It was so amazing that we, the teachers and the children, could all watch the caterpillars turn into a chrysalis and this week, one turned into a beautiful butterfly. Together we watched the wet butterfly flapping it's wings and getting ready to fly away.
