Toddler News

This week has been a fun filled week. We had culture Day on Tuesday and some of the children came dressed in the colours of their country and culture. Their t-shirts, jumpers and pants were very colourful. The teachers were all dressed up in their cultural clothes. (Oops we forgot to photograph the staff!) We had some yummy traditional kiwi hokey pokey ice cream in a cone and our friend Henry brought us in a yummy chocolate cake, mmmmm. What full tummies we had!
We got to play outside in the nice weather. Our new friend, Georgia, came over from the Nursery to visit us as she is starting in our room next week. We say a sad goodbye to Matthew and Liam D who are moving up to Preschool. We will miss you both!

The Preschool Week

What is going on in our Preschool?? We've had exciting weeks one after another. We have had a "Colour Week" recently where the children wore the clothes of a particular colour on each day of the week. See how gorgeous they looked on "Green Day."

This week, we had a "Cultural Day" on Tuesday. some of the children wore their traditional costumes and some others put decorations on their clothes that showed their cultural heritage. It is fantastic for the children to share who they are and where they come from. As we can see, we are all different, but we are all one.

Another exciting activity coming up is that the teachers have introduced stage performances. All the children are so enthusiastic that they all take turns to show off their talents on the imaginative stage in Preschool. As time moves on, you will see more and more little stars shining because the Bayfield Preschool children have heaps of talent.

Chickenpox

We would like to inform you that we have a chickenpox outbreak in the Preschool. We have (have had) 5 children with chickenpox. If your child is unwell please be aware that this is going around and you may need to visit your G.P.

Any questions please speak to Oriana or myself.

Kind regards
Shona

The Comings and Goings in Nursery

As you may have noticed there have been some changes in the Nursery. We are sad to say goodbye to Ranen and Poppy who started in the Toddler Room this week and this is also Josephine's last week with us.
On a happier note, we would like to welcome Ava and Mia who have just started in the Tuatara Room, as well as Joseph and Anna who have moved to the Tuatara Room from the Pukeko Room recently.
Also, welcome to Meher, who has just returned from her 7 week practicum.

Toddlers News
The week started off raining but we had heaps of fun inside on Monday. We did some painting with brushes and played with the stickle bricks. Matthew and Liam O had fun with the trains and cars. Tuesday morning was nice so we got outside for a play. All the children were excited to get outside and enjoy the fine weather. It didn't last very long with the rain making it's appearance in the afternoon. We brought the bikes inside and Bailey, Baxter, Sacha and Nate all had a great time riding the bikes around and around, stopping to fix their bikes when they needed to. Wednesday brought sun and lots of outdoor fun. Molly brought out the radio and we all danced and grooved to The Wiggles. Zane, Gabriel, Annabelle, Emelia and Cooper all did the actions to "Bears Now Asleep." Thursday, we had another nice fine day of play outside kicking balls, riding bikes and lots of sand play. We would like to welcome Cooper and Ava to the Toddler Room and a sad farewell to Lily and Mia who are moving to Preschool.http://picasaweb.google.com/bayfieldeec/ToddlersBlog?authkey=Gv1sRgCPvQpL3V6qy4ugE&feat=directlink
