We are sad to say that Paige (one of our lovely toddler teachers) is leaving us. She is taking a year off for personal reasons. We wish her all the best and we hope to see her in a year's time. Paige is finishing on Thursday the 5th of February.
Arohanui Paige and we WILL see you next year.

Splish Splash (Nursery News)
It has been quite a hot week and what a great time to have water play to cool down in the summer!
The Nursery children have been enjoying some wet time outside - in the sandpit, painting the fence, and watching ice melt in the water trough and children's hands. The older children had the chance to feel how cold the ice was and how it was to hold different sizes of ice pieces. In short, they all had fun getting wet!
The Nursery team would like to take this opportunity to welcome the newest members in the Pukeko Room - Ellie and Isabella.
Don't forget our Pizza and Wine Evening next Friday, 30th January, 6 - 7.30 p.m. We are looking forward to meeting you.
I hope you all had an awesome weekend and to those celebrating Chinese New Year, Happy Chinese New year!

Dear Parents
Thank you for your response to our language classes interest form. It seems the majority of parents are wanting their child to have French classes so I have notified Maroussia. It is up to you to register with her and tell her you are interested in a class at Bayfield. It also seems that Thursday will be the day for it but we are not certain at this stage. So.....Here are her details.

Please note that we are happy to provide the venue for the language class and will ensure one of the Preschool teachers sits in on the class to assist but all payments and bookings for the language class are to be organized between yourself and Maroussia. Maroussia will let us know the numbers and names of children who will be attending so we can ensure they are kept inside for it at that time.
Any questions please see me or contact Maroussia on contact details above.

Preschool Language Classes
Dear Parents
We are trying to gauge parent interest in continuing our language classes as most of the children from our Spanish class have left for school. We are considering taking up French classes if a teacher is available. Please contact Shona if you are interested.

Nursery News
Kia Ora. Welcome back and a Happy New Year to you all. We hope you all had heaps of fun during the Christmas holidays. It is really nice to see that some of the children have grown taller and others came back with lots of changes, such as Brooke and Denver, who are confident walkers now!
We are all back to our routines. The children are excited and enjoying playing with their friends who they have not seen for a while.
Welcome Jack, who has started in the Tuatara Room after the holidays. On the other hand we will miss Emelia, Annabelle, Will and Sophie as they have all moved up to the Toddlers. Good luck children. We hope you all will enjoy spending time with your older peers.

STAFF CHANGES
Happy New Year and welcome back for another year.
We have some sad news. Karen Soulje is leaving us! Karen has been at Bayfield for the past six and a half years, the previous 2 years as Head Teacher in Preschool. Karen has bought a house recently out near Ranui and she will be taking on a position as Head Teacher at a preschool near her home. We are very sad to lose Karen as she has been with us for so long and put many hard hours of work into her many roles while she was here. However, we congratulate her on her new appointment and wish her all the best for the future. Karen's last day at Bayfield will be Thursday, the 5th of February 2009.
Oriana Mincham will be taking over Karen's role as Head Teacher as from Monday, the 9th of February. Congratulations Oriana! Many of you know Ori from the Toddler Room.
Molly Sietu will be taking over Oriana's role in the Toddler Room as Head Teacher as from the same date. Congratulations to Molly!
Melemai Kamutoa who has been relieving for us in the Nursery for some time now is leaving us as well on the 13th of February. Mel will be taking on Nursing Training. We will miss you Mel!
Therefore we will be looking for some new staff over the next few weeks. In the meantime, we have 4 regular relievers who will be covering these positions; Alyshia Sheehan, Bobbi Kamutoa, Paige Tamatea and Jade Lochman.
If you have any questions regarding the above information please don't hesitate to speak to me.
Kind regards
Shona Hewitt
