Preschool's Sunflowers
We are all very excited in Preschool because our sunflowers have come out! From the fifty that we planed only five have survived, but what beautiful, magnificient flowers they are! Because they were Shaina's project with the children, we have emailed her the pictures with our Christmas wishes.
On that note, Oriana, Laura, Cindy, Rachel, Alice, Kathryn, Vanessa, Bobbi, Aly and Paige wish you all a happy, fun-filled and safe Christmas holidays. We look forward to seeing you again mid January and hearing about your many summer adventures.

Toddler Bike Day
Bike Day was a great success. The children loved bringing in their bikes and sharing them with their Toddler friends. Check out the fun photos we took. It was great to see the children sharing their bikes and using the virtues of friendliness and
co-operation.

Nursery News - Week Ending 11.12.2009
It's been a gorgeous but rather hot week in the Nursery. As a result there has been a lot of water play happening, and lots of running around with hardly any clothes (the children that is)!
Today we topped off the week with a trip to the park for the Tuatara Room. Check out the attached Daily Diaries and a slideshow of the park trip will follow.

The Bike Day - Preschool
It was a perfect summer's day. The sun was shining, not a cloud to be seen in the sky. To top it all off, it was BIKE DAY in Preschool!
It was joyful chaos outside. Lots of colourful bikes, scooters and ride-ons were zooming around the playground. Most of the children shared really well, letting those who didn't bring a bike have a turn.
The teachers were quite surprised with how well the children controlled their bikes as they rode around. They slowed down as they approached other children and were very courteous drivers.
With all the riding and running around the children did, they got very warm and had to stop and rest for short periods of time. This was a good opportunity for the teachers to talk about the exercise they were doing and how good it is for our bodies.
As the day wore on, it started getting hotter and hotter. Everyone was slathered with sunscreen about four or five times throughout the day to prevent burning. To keep us all cool, we set up activities in the shade and we had an impromptu shower from the hose! Bobbi got a lot of enjoyment out of saturating the children who wanted to get really wet, and sprinkling those who were not so keen. We dried in no time!
Bike day was such a success. We were all impressed with how well the children dealt with the hot weather and how they looked after each other on the playground.

The Funrazor Coin Collection
We would like to thank you all very much for donating so generously to the coin trail that we held last week, in order to raise money for Michael Wai Poi, who shaved his "lid" for Child Cancer (Ethan and Jasper's Dad). We are happy to announce that we managed to raise "$ 456.00!!"
We would like to make a special mention of Nicki Reid (Curtis' Mum) who raised $ 50.00 through donations from Warner Music. A big thank you to Nicki. Also to all the parents and staff who donated so generously on Michael's website. Well done everyone, a very worthy cause. See attached photos

Toddler News
Farewell to Ella and Nate who are moving over to Preschool. We wish you two all the best.
We have noticed that most of our children are not wearing summer hats yet, so please start bringing in those bright summer hats and also make sure you name them.
Some of the children's hats are also missing, so please try and leave your child's hat in the hat basket.
Three more weeks until Christmas Day and all the children have been busy helping us to set up the Christmas tree. Check out the smilebox album below.
What a week we have had. the weather hasn't been the greatest so we have been having some fun inside. Climbing, jumping, dancing, singing, and just having fun with our friends.

Bike Day - Preschool
The zooming Preschoolers are having a bike day! This will be happening on Thursday, 10th December, so that means we want to see all the Preschoolers zoom around the playground on their favourite bike. If it is raining it will be postponed until a later date. It might be a good idea to name your child's bike in case there is one the same.
