The weather was not the greatest for water play today, but the children didn't complain. They eagerly got changed into their togs and headed outside for the water slide and water play. Children brought in their water squirters from Santa and aimed for their friends and teachers. The slide was a huge hit with the children zooming down so fast. The line was always long, with most children wanting to go over and over again.
After the children got changed, they all headed out to the mats to eat their yummy home made lunches. The children all were excited to see what everyone else in their lunch boxes. It began to spit and we all headed inside.
All in all, we had a fabulous time getting wet and sliding about. We can not wait for the next one.

Why is the Snail in the turtle tank?
How did the project emerge?
Today, we had lots of fun outside having ‘Tiny Tim’, fish and sea snail together. The children were fascinated to find a new creature and they wondered “why is the snail in the turtle tank?” Matthew said, “I never saw a live snail inside the water”. Annabelle said, “I saw heaps of snails in my garden and they look different to this sea snail”. I said, “Sea snails keep the tank clean by eating the waste off the turtle tank”.
Children were very curious about the Sea Snails and wanted to know more about them. We will be extending children's interest in this area through providing first hand experiences.

Preschool Picnic and Water Play day for Friday children
On Friday, the 28th January, we are going to have a day full of water play. Could all the children please bring their togs, towels and extra changes of clothes.
With the fabulous weather that we are also having, can the children also bring their lunch box for a picnic lunch.
Please remember that there should be nothing containing nuts, i.e. Nutella and Peanut Butter.

Virtuous Volcano
While playing in the sandpit today, the children displayed the virtues of co operation and determination while constructing a large mound of sand, which they were turning into a volcano. They displayed the virtue of creativity when they grated coloured chalk over the top of the volcano to make it look bright and colourful. When the volcano erupted the children experienced a sense of joy in what they had accomplished.
Rocket Raceway
Today, in Preschool Paige and I drew a raceway with the chalk on the carpet. The boys had a real interest in what we were drawing. The boys had all the input, we just drew what they wanted.
Everyone had a turn at racing or riding their boat, jets or cars on our famous island, which was a huge hit.
