Welcome to the Toddlers' blog entry for the week. Look at their "bikes'. They are parked at "Chloe's Cafe" for food and drinks. What a drive! Farewell to Luke and Eve who have moved up to Preschool and welcome to Lily who has moved up from Nursery. The Kea Room have continued to relate to transport within the room and in their play. Sienna and Ava spoke about the bikes going up and down the wooden boxes and Michaella and Cristian have a Hairdressing service at "Chloe's Cafe".

Preschool Stardome Trip
On Monday, the 11th August, Preschool went on a trip to the "Stardome."
The children loved exploring all the wonderful things inside. They got to wear magic glasses, learnt a new word - "Spectrum" and watched a movie about aliens and planets.
After this interesting experience we had fun playing at the playground.
A big thank you to all the parent helpers.

Garden Delight - Preschool
Recently Karen (Our Head Handy Woman) has knocked out part of a fence in our outdoor environment to expose an area with a lovely tree. The children absolutely adore exploring this once enclosed tree and now you will often see 5 or 6 children hanging from the branches.
There will continue to be changes to our outdoor environment as we work on plans that will enable children to get in amongst the gardens and nature. This will involve using lots of different materials, such as river stones, pieces of tree trunk, native grasses, shrubs and paving stories. We hope to involve the chidlren as much as we can in this process. See attached photos of children in the tree.

Preschool Planning
We have done our planning for the children according to their interests.
This is based around the co-virtues of:
* Responsibility
* Honesty
* Friendliness
We are focusing on the areas of outer space, exercise, movement and responsibility. We would like to encourage you to talk to your child about these virtues. For ideas/inspirations look at our planning wall.

Nursery's Friend O.T.
Today, our friend O.T. came to visit. He is our teacher's pet rabbit.
We took turns feeding him lettuce, celery, spinach and carrots. We were really excited and happy to see him. We loved patting his soft fur and his long ears.
