Impetigo in Preschool

We have had a couple of cases of Impetigo (school sores) in the Preschool Room.  This appears as lesions on the skin (usually the arms, legs or face) and can spread quite quickly through close contact if they are not treated.  If your child has any cuts, scrapes, insect bites, areas of eczema or rashs, please ensure that these areas are clean and covered to prevent infection.
If your child has any sores on them, please get them to a doctor as soon as possible to get them treated as Impetigo is contagious.  If they are issued with antibiotics they will need to be kept away from the centre for the first 24 hours, once the treatment has been started.
